The Masaai Beautiful Ways

The Masaai Culture
"The Eunoto ceremony of the Salei Maasai in #Tanzania, held every fourteen years, marks the passage of a generation of warriors into elderhood.
 ⠀
As we arrived on the hilly slopes of Mount Arash, east of the Serengeti plains, we saw long lines of Maasai warriors arriving in colorful processions from over the horizon, nine hundred men in all.

They were heading for the ceremonial manyatta, where family members in the thousands waited to greet them. They wore red and orange togas and dazzling white jewelry, with iron bells on their thighs jangling as they strode. ⠀

Unlike other Maasai clans, the Salei favor pure white jewelry. The women were adorned with large white beaded collars and the warriors with intricate white beaded hair pieces, bracelets, and belts that showed off their hair and muscular physique" ⠀
